At Spring Mountain Women’s Health, we provide full-spectrum prenatal care for women, including high-risk prenatal care. If you are looking for prenatal care in Summerlin South or southwest Las Vegas, our office can help you. We pay careful attention to your pregnancy, from your first positive test to your delivery.
Prenatal Care Services
When you find out you are pregnant, it is important to schedule a check-up with your OB/GYN in Summerlin South. We can begin to monitor your pregnancy and determine the expected due date using your cycle information.
We perform in-office ultrasounds in a comforting, relaxing environment so that we can monitor the baby’s growth and development, and you can see your baby before they are born. Once we establish your expected due date and determine your baby’s health, we set you up for success during your pregnancy.
We offer gender ultrasounds starting at 14 weeks. You can choose to find out the sex of your baby at this time or give the results to a trusted person to reveal at your baby’s gender party. We cooperate with all kinds of creative gender reveals, and we love to see happy parents find out what they are having!
Until your delivery, we will monitor and assess your health and the baby’s health to avoid possible risks. During ultrasounds, we monitor the baby’s heartbeat and development. We check on your baby’s growth and measure different parts of their body to ensure they are developing correctly.
High-Risk Pregnancy
Our prenatal care services extend to high-risk pregnancies as well. High-risk pregnancies usually involve an underlying medical condition or fetal abnormality. Our team must closely monitor high-risk pregnancies to ensure the health of the mother and baby. We can perform genetic testing to assess the risk of congenital disabilities and conditions.
A “high risk” pregnancy can be due to the following factors:
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- HIV
- Being overweight or obese
- Older maternal age (35 years or older)
- Young maternal age (teenager)
- Carrying multiples
- History of high-risk pregnancy
This list is not all-inclusive. There may be some conditions that we did not list. If you suspect your pregnancy is high-risk, our providers can confirm that information upon your first visit.
High-risk pregnancies can be successful under proper prenatal care and caution. We take your health and your baby’s health seriously. We want you both to remain in excellent health and have a successful, happy delivery. For that reason, we will do whatever we can to keep you comfortable and safe during your high-risk pregnancy.
